Omega Dehydrators
Column!
This month, we wanted to get
healthy honoring the upcoming
Natural Products Expo West show
in Anaheim, Calif., as well as pay
tribute to the innovation we expect
to find at the International Home +
Housewares Show in Chicago.
So the issue itself is dedicated to
juicers – and several of our favorite
juicers are created by Omega. In
fact, our creative director Penelope
Korff describes herself as one of
the biggest fans (and users) of
the range.
But did you know that Omega
also makes one heck of a food
dehydrator? We tested quite a few
models of dehydrators in our test
kitchens and Omega came out on
top, holding its temperature well
and providing a consistent end
product.
This unit runs beautifully quiet and
handles a great amount of product.
Some of the other units we tested
took an unusually long amount of
time to dehydrate the tomatoes
and apples we were testing, but
Omega’s unit provided an even
dehydration process and the end
result was consistent throughout
the nine-tray unit, demonstrating
the even airflow and temperature
settings.
It’s a great unit to demonstrate in
your store as well – it occupies a
relatively compact footprint in the
kitchen and is attractive. For those
really health-conscious consumers
looking to keep their attention on
homegrown and homemade products, the unit pairs well with the
Omega juicer collection for an
add-on sale.
