We’ve been checking out what’s new for 2012 at the first round of shows for the season.
Here are a few items that struck our fancy right from the show floor or happily landed in
our mailbox!
Inner Ocean Seaweed Soaps

Ten nautically inspired designs in decorative green
organza pouches, which complement the hue of the
soaps, include such sea creatures as starfish; crabs;
seahorses; sea turtles; scallop shells; mermaids;
sand dollars; and sea biscuits. Shapes are either
embedded in the seaweed-green soaps or adorn the
tops. The soaps range from 2 to 6 ounces in weight.
The popular 2-ounce sand dollar design is available
on a white porcelain dish. Also now offered are several
of the ocean-scented soaps individually packaged on
a nest of green shred within clear-lidded boxes. These
include a round sand dollar soap; a round crab soap;
a round starfish soap; a larger soap on which a starfish grips a shell; and a scallop shell.

SoHe Designs will extend the brand of African-inspired
design into home textiles and offer customers a fresh look
at the classic toile through its own creation of Liberia, the
African Homeland Toile. This line will coordinate with the tea
set collection currently marketed by the company; 100 percent cotton; made in America. Southern Hemisphere Design
Group, Inc. supports the “Made in U.S.A.” label and assists
efforts to rebuild the manufacturing sector in home textiles.

Fleur de Sel de Guérande

Le Paludier is located in romantic Batz Sur
Mer, France, and produces the famous Fleur
de Sel de Guérande. Known as the caviar of
salts, the delicate and subtle taste of its Fleur
de Sel serves as a wonderful complement to
any meal. This traditional French delicacy is
harvested by hand off the coast of Brittany
and dried and baked naturally by the sun.
This technique results in not only the delicate
crystals and subtle flavor, but also a lower
sodium content than table salt.
