A personalized guide to the world of high-quality and artisanal
food, Daily Gourmet, launched earlier this year.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Daily Gourmet provides discovery, information and inspiration to food lovers by featuring
amazing products in specially discounted, time-limited offers.
Daily Gourmet also gives food producers the tools to market
their products and grow their business by reaching a national
audience. In order to bring foodies and artisan producers
together, Daily Gourmet’s team scours the world for enticing,
often hand-produced products, and delivers the best and
most delicious finds directly to members’ e-mail inboxes and,
ultimately, to their front door. Members receive exclusive
offers inviting them to try new products, creating a connection
between them and the passionate producers that make each
product.
With every offer, members will discover something new and
delicious, including jams and preserves, confections, cheeses,
cured meats, pastries, teas, coffee, chocolates, honey and
sustainable seafood, as well as gluten-free, kosher, halal and
vegan products. The company believes that great food should
be enjoyed every day, not just saved for special occasions, and
offers a true “farm-to-table” experience.
CEO David Rangel and CTO Chad Jackson soft-launched Daily
Gourmet in February 2011. Rangel has a successful career in
technology product management and strategy at early-stage
startups as well as large corporations. Prior to Daily Gourmet,
he worked at Microsoft’s Corporate Strategy Group, in venture
capital with MK Capital and at Groupon. In Jackson’s 10-plus-
year entrepreneurial career before co-founding Daily Gourmet,
he has acquired extensive experience building software and
Internet services used by both businesses and consumers. He
has worked at, and founded, several venture-backed consumer
Internet startups.
Daily Gourmet has taken great care in ensuring that food
producers benefit greatly from being featured, not only through
the focused promotion of their products and the resulting sales,
but also by providing valuable tools for encouraging buyers to
become regular customers. Daily Gourmet’s mission is to be a
vice president. “This will form a key concentration of kitchenware resources
for retailers, and will create unparalleled cross-selling opportunities for
gourmet suppliers seeking access to 35,000 home, lifestyle and gift buyers
who attend NYIGF.”
The Gourmet Housewares Show will be located immediately adjacent to
NYIGF’s Accent on Design, offering synergistic access to complementary
design-focused suppliers, such as Alessi, ASA Selection, Blomus, Built,
Chilewich, OXO, Royal VKB (Wabnitz Editions), Stelton and Umbra. On its
other side – and connected temporarily this summer by a Javits Center
construction zone – NYIGF’s Tabletop division will feature another 200
leading suppliers of specialty tabletop lines, including Arte Italica, Juliska,
Kim Seybert, Lunares, Match, Michael Aram and Vagabond House. NYIGF
online registration is available at www.nyigf.com/register.
