CLEVELAND—Due to a substantial growth in sales, Vitamix announces
a 33,000 square foot increase in their shipping, manufacturing and
warehouse facilities, and 7,000 square feet of additional office space.
The expansion includes additional production lines, a completely new
shipping area, an expanded warehouse and additional offices for new
employees, and represents Vitamix’s commitment to meet the needs of
the company’s global growth due to tremendous increase in consumer
and retailer demand.

December 2010.

year-to-date versus 2009. We do not feel this is just a spike in sales,

FAIRFIELD, CALIF—Bend, Oregon resident, Lisa Calorino
won the national Be the Jelly Belly Big Bean sweepstakes,
announced Jelly Belly Candy Company. She and her family
will travel to Fairfield, Calif., where she will join 4th generation
candy man Herman Rowland, Sr., for a day at the helm of Jelly
Belly Candy Company.
This “sweet” job is accompanied with a “paycheck” bonus prize
of $10,000, hotel accommodations in San Francisco, and a
rental car to transport the “Big Bean” around town while she
serves as Jelly Belly Candy Company’s acting president.
“What a hoot! It is like a wonderful reward to visit the Jelly Belly
factory during our never-ending rollercoaster of life’s journey.
How exciting,” said Calorino. She plans to travel to Jelly Belly
with her husband, Clark, and son, Eulind.
Upon arriving at Jelly Belly, Calorino will inspect the factory,
taste new flavors in development, work on promotional
concepts at the executive offices, and generally experience
life at the top. Calorino will also get a unique chance to
represent Jelly Belly at a local charity, proving that running
a company is just as much about giving as it is receiving.
The online contest gave contestants an inside look at the
workings of a candy plant and tested their ability to handle
the pressure of running a candy company.
