Denver-based candy maker Hammond’s Candies
purchased 100 year-old McCraw’s Candies earlier
this year. McCraw’s old-fashioned taffy rounds out
Hammond’s existing line of nostalgic confections
by balancing the seasonality of their existing
business and adding a different style of candy to
their assortment. Hammond’s, which has a kosher
facility, celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.

Mitchell Sweets, made of marshmallow covered in
vanilla caramel.

Weeping Mary’s Ghost Pepper Peanuts are made
with Ghost Pepper, a truly hot pepper that Bertie
County Peanuts combines with the smoky heat of
Habanera peppers and the sweet heat of paprika.
When one of their taste testers cried after experiencing the intense heat of the new peanuts, the
company knew it had the beginnings of a perfect
name. Bertie County Weeping Mary’s Ghost Pepper
Peanuts come packaged in Bertie County Peanuts’
signature plastic recyclable jars and are available
in 10- and 30-ounce sizes.
