Doral FL—IMUSA webisodes featuring
Food Network cooking star and
IMUSA spokeschef, George Duran,
now debut each month on YouTube
and at IMUSA’s website. In the
webcast, Duran may be showcasing
a seasonal recipe, a new product or
demonstrating a cooking technique.
Technology is enabling IMUSA to build
a community of people who love Latin
cuisine and cooking, as well as those
that wish to learn how to bring flavors
and cooking techniques of Latin
cooking into their homes.
Chef Duran’s November demo included
Pumpkin Tamales, a “Duran-like” twist
of a traditional holiday favorite. His
December webisode debunks pressure
cooker myths as he showcases a
hearty recipe for Chorizo Lentil Stew.
New recipes from Chef Duran and
the other IMUSA chefs are featured
at IMUSA’s website, www.imusausa.
com.
In addition to the webisodes, IMUSA
has also opened its own Twitter and
Facebook fan groups to provide a
forum for consumers to learn about
the brand’s products while a team of
celebrity chefs, each representing a
specific Latin culinary region, began
demonstrating recipes, products
and techniques in department and
grocery stores.
The Faceboook group allows IMUSA
fans to share information about
entertaining, cooking trends, recipe
ideas and “anything else food-relat-ed,” according to IMUSA president,
Manny Gaunaurd. “As the leading
brand of Hispanic housewares, we’re
connecting and building a vibrant
community.”
Designed to showcase the varied yet
inter-related characteristics of Latin
Cuisine, The IMUSA Chef Program
features chefs from the world of
Hispanic cooking. The lineup of
professional chefs includes Elsie
Ramos (Puerto Rico), Ana Quincoces
(Cuba), George Duran (South
America) and Ana Garcia (Mexico),
who each demonstrate recipes
from their own individual countries
of origin.
“Our chef program allows us to
become a more intrinsic part of the
community. For example, during
Hispanic Heritage Month, Chef Duran
worked with Macy’s to showcase
IMUSA recipes and products in six
major cities while Chef Ramos’
demonstrations in supermarkets in
New Jersey, New York and Florida
provided shoppers with delicious
meal solutions,” explains Gaunaurd.
